Hold Cleaning Condition refers to the state of cleanliness and maintenance of a ship's cargo holds, especially on cargo vessels such as bulk carriers, tankers, and general cargo ships. Proper cleaning of these areas is essential to ensure that cargo conditions are safe, that products are transported without contamination, and that the vessel complies with environmental and safety regulations ‘Grain clean’ generally means: ✔ Holds are completely clean and dry; ✔ Free from residues of previous cargoes or debris; ✔ Free from loose rust, paint flakes, odors, insects, or signs of infestation; ✔ Properly ventilated and without residual moisture that could compromise the quality of the soy or grains."
